About Me

I took a rather unconventional route to become a nutritionist, heading straight to university after high school to study engineering. Working as a mechanical engineer saw me travelling all over the country, especially to regional areas, living in construction camps, and food choices were generally pretty limited, and not particularly nutritious. I started dabbling in the "diet culture" to try and feel better, which sent me down many an internet rabbit hole to try and understand all these wild claims and miracle "fixes". It didn't take long to realise that I wanted to really understand what was going on instead of lots and lots of sometimes expensive trial and error. So I started with a diploma of health science for my own interest.

Meanwhile, I also completed a gym "8 week Challenge" only to discover how much I LOVED talking to people about their health, what works for them, their unique challenges in life and to help them to think of solutions or work arounds. This is what lead me to the realisation that I could in fact turn my passion into a career!

The next step was to undertake a bachelor of Health Science, Nutrition along side being on the other side of these 8 week challenges taking clients through a weekly check in and having an opportunity to really help make a difference in people's lives. Sometimes that just meant being a listening ear for the vent about the week, being a cheerleader for wins both big and small, or explaining results especially if they didn't reflect the effort that had been put in.

I discovered that I'm passionate about mental health and how nutrition can impact so many areas of life. I love supporting you in finding ways to manage your wellbeing wherever you are on your health journey. I understand that different times in life require different approaches to nutrition. Working full time from home generally creates different hurdles than working in an office, or on the road. Living alone has vastly different needs than feeding a family, especially if there are fussy eaters. Student life has its own challenges and it can be daunting to try and eat well when finances are tight and time between work, studying, and trying to have a social life is even tighter.

My job is to really listen to you. What you can realistically change and to be a guide for whatever comes your way so you can crush your goals, big or small.
